The Wronged - Kimberley Chambers

Image
Kimberley Chambers is definitely the Queen of grit when it comes to crime/gangland fiction! With every book of hers I completely devour it and want to jump straight into the next one! With Vinny Butler inside it’s time for Michael to step up and prove his worth in the Butler family but has he taken on more than he can cope with or will he come out on top? Will some new news to Vinny tip him over the edge? Little Vinny is hanging about with Ahmed a lot more than the Butlers would like but could his new found love Sammi-Lou be the making of him or will his last crimes catch up with him? Queenie and Vivs humour thought this book just really adds to the book, their east end humour is just tip top!The Juniour Butlers are out to cause havoc too...but could this leave Daniel, Lee and Adam in far too deep...more than they can definitely handle!!It’s great to see old faces pop up throughout this book too! (Another must read series by Kimberley if you haven’t read them!)  Although this is bo...

Mummy Told Me Not To Tell - Cathy Glass

Oh what an emotional read! Could Cathys be about to face her biggest challenge yet with 7 year old Reece? Reece has already been to four different carers in four weeks! Having been excluded from multiple schools for his behaviour and biting already. Cathy is determined to get Reece on the right track. Reece has been sworn to secrecy by his mother not to say a word about what's happened at home, anytime home is mentioned his answer is 'Don't Know' but Cathy is determined to find out why his behaviour is so atrocious and what has been the reason behind his and his siblings move into foster care. I didnt want to put this book down, it had me in absolute tears at points and my heart was filled when cathy took him on some of his first experiences. This is only the second book I have read by Cathy Glass, I'm definitely going to read more.

One White Lie - Leah Konen

Oh wow! What an exceptional read, this is everything that I want to read in a psychological thriller. Lucy has managed to escape her abusive ex, she has cut all ties with him, abandoned all ties with social media and has even got a new SIM card for her phone. A fresh start is exactly what her and Dusty her dog needs. When she arrives to her new village she instantly makes some new friends, a couple Vera and John, these are exactly what she needs in her life, they grow to be her comfort blanket, her stability, her new family, people she can truly depends on...or can she? You would do anything for family wouldn’t you? Even fake a death? The three of them hatch a plan and it all goes horribly wrong. Who will come out on top? Who will get the blame? Are people who you think they are? Or has Lucy just got herself into a big mess? Psychological thrillers are one of my favourite genres and ‘One White Lie’ has just got straight to the top, definitely one of the best ones I have read in a l...

Payback - Kimberley Chambers

What’s an explosive read! This is book 2 in The Butler series and it carries straight on from exactly where book 1 finished! Just like the first book I didn’t want to put it down, I have a funny feeling my next couple of books will be the rest of the series as I can’t wait to find out what is next in store for Vinny, Michael, Queenie and the rest of the family. Vinnys enemies are out to get him but who will pay the price for his misdemeanours? Will The Butlers manage to stay as a family? What secrets will get exposed? Can you trust your own family and friends? I can’t wait to dive into book 3! If you haven’t read any book by Kimberley Chambers and you are a fan of crime fiction then this series is a must read, I would recommend you start with book 1 ‘The Trap’ so you can meet all of the characters!

Billy And Me - Giovanna Fletcher

Oh what a brilliant book this is, I had heard quiet alot of people talk about it and how brilliant it was and it was everything unwanted and more in a book, it has lust, romance, heart break, heart ache, friendships and plenty of tea and cake!!!  Sophie works in the local tea shop, she doesnt like being in the limelight she would rather just fade into the back ground, she has been like this ever since the accident, she just wants a peaceful life with the people closest to her, that's until one day she meets Billy Buskin, a heart throb and successful actor. But can a 'normal' person be in a relationship with someone so famous? Can she face being 'normal' whilst being in the limelight? I really enjoyed this book, although it was a little predictable you couldn't help but want to carry on reading. A perfect summery afternoon read!

A Baby’s Cry - Cathy Glass

what a superb book written by Cathy Glass, I have read one of two of her books before but this one just kept me wanting to read more and more, I wanted to know the mystery behind why Harrisons mother had put him up for foster care/ adoption.  Cathy Glass’s books are all based on the children she has fostered over the years. Rarely does she have a baby but this case she had been given a baby from birth, a really emotional read of a mother trying her hardest to protect her child, she so badly wants her child but care is the only option.... until she meets her son. A raw and emotional read with a happy ending.

Notting Hill Carnival: A West Side Story - Candice Carty-Williams

This is another fabulous quick read, I was engrossed straight away, I really wish this Luke have been a longer book! Sapphie is the leader of the Red Roses but when she can’t control her anger. A tragic event then gives Sapphire the wake up call she needs....with her old Gang behind her she meets Apollo...a member of the Gold Teeth...the rival gang of the Red Roses....on the way to the Notting Hill Carnival when an instant attraction is formed.... can they be together? Will Sapphire ever escape her Ganga past? I really enjoyed this quick read, it was raw, emotional and I thought quiet relevant with what’s going on today. I will definitely be picking up Candices other book Queenie.
