Dial A For Aunties - Jesse Sutanto

Image
I just want to start by saying I LOVED this book, I couldn't put it down, I didn't want to put it down and I was so sad when it ended. So much so as soon as it ended I rushed out to buy book 2, 'Four Aunties and a Wedding.' I loved that this book was original and highly entertaining, it made me laugh out loud and now I'm addicted. I really hope this is going to be a lengthy series. Meddelin (meddy) thinks she has it all sorted until her aunt asks her to join the family business and her boyfriend wants to move away. Her mum thinks it's time she settles down and arranges a blind date for her and when it goes horrifically wrong and her date ends up dead all Meddy can thunk of is getting help from her mum and aunts...those who helped her get into this mess!!! Join Meddy and her aunts on this ride as they try to cover a murder, I mean what could possibly go wrong?!!! HILARIOUS. ORIGINAL. CHARMING. WITTY. CULTURAL. I BLOODY LOVED IT! I read this as part of a buddy rea

Kalmann - Joachim Schmidt

Today is my stop on the blog tour for 'Kalmann' by Joachim Scmidt, an Icelandic mystery full of humour.  I really enjoyed this book, I found it very atmospheric, humours and engaging. Although different for your usual mystery read I loved the originality around it.  Self appointed sherrif, Kalmann of  Raufarhöfn (a small town in the north of Iceland) comes across a puddle of blood whilst out Fox hunting. However instead of reporting the blood, he goes home to watch Dr Phil. It isn't until he is taken in for questioning we unravel the complex life of Kalmann Odinsson and how he became so engrossed in survival having learnt it from his grandfather. But by not reporting the puddle of blood stained ice could Kalmann have gotten himself tangled up in something far worse? Kalmann will not stop until he finds out what has happened.  I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish, I do hope we will see more of Kalmann in the future.  Thank you Anne at Random Things Tours for l

The Way From Here - Jane Turner

Today is my spot on the blog tour for 'The Way From Here' by Jane Turner, an uplifting and incredibly heartwarming read.  Kates daughter is off to university and all of a sudden she is faced with the enormity of the situation, what does she do now? With her husband Tim away through the week at work and his cycling hobby at the weekend just what is left for Kate? As she starts to think about what her life could have been and reflects on her previous life the opportunity of joining the rowing club comes around, an opportunity she doesn't want to miss out on and reflects on how much she used to love it, by joining the rowing club Kate finds the friendships she's never knew she needed until now. I loved every minute of this book, it also got my thinking about what happens when my children fly the nest. A truly heartwarming read. Thank you Anne at Random Things Tours for letting me take part on this wonderful blog tour.

Oh my goodness what a book! But first of all can I just say thank you to Buddy Read Book Nook who host a huge amount of buddy reads every month!! What a real 'page turner', I honestly couldn't turn the pages quick enough, for me this is hands down one of the nest psychological thrillers I have ever read. Throughout reading I was really quite pleased with myself for qworking out what was going to happen but boy was I so wrong! THAT TWIST - SENSATIONAL. so cleverly written and written with such sensitivity and care especially for the themes that run throughout. I will definitely be on the look out for more books by Elizabeth Day.

Today is my stop on the blog tour for 'The Girl Who Jumped' by Matilda Swinney. I LOVED this book, everything about it, I loved that it was based ok true events also!! This book had me laughing out loud in so many parts! This book needs to be moved to the top of everyone's reading piles at the moment, with romance books being a huge hit with readers at the moment this one cannot be missed! Extremely steamy, very funny and written so believable. I read this in just over a day!  Tilly is persuaded by friend Ameila to sign up to a sex website to get over her ex, the sex website is to find a dominant man, but as they meet is it possible that Tilly is falling in love with Sir? But furthermore would Sor ever fall in love with Tilly... This is the first book I have read by Matilda Swinney and I can guarantee you it will not be the last! Hands down a 5* read! Thank you Anne at Random Things Tours for letting me take part in this funny, steamy and intruiging blog tour!

The Peacock House - Kate Glanville

Image
Today is my stop on the blog tour for 'The Peacock House' Kate Glanville. I absolutely loved it, I was pulled right in from the very beginning and became more and more engrossed as I turned the pages. I love family sagas and when I was offered the chance to review a Kate Glanville one I instantly knew I would love it, having read a couple of her previous books! Set in North Wales, (a place I grew up) in 1943 Evelyn dreams of escaping her loveless marriage and wants to forget her time there, however it's now 2016 and Bethan, Evelyns best friends grand-daughter is an aspiring journalist and interviews Evelyn and her life she used to live. Unputdownable, moving and completely absorbing. I really didn't want it to end. Thank you Anne at Random Things Tours for letting me take part in this gorgeous blog tour.

There is nothing I love more than a completely original read, I love how relatable it is and how much it made me laugh! I also loved the way Katy wrote this, motherhood can be very hard and Katy wrote this in a way as to make you feel like you are not the only one that is going through the harder times.
