Hex - Jenni Fagan

Hex is such a though provoking read. i just didn't want it to end. At just 100 pages long, i devoured it within an hour. This novella tells the story of Geillis Duncan who was accused and tried of witchcraft. During this story, in the final hours of life Geillis recalls the happenings of her arrest, the torture she endured, her trial she faced. This story will stay with me for a very long time.

Fair Game - R.D Nixon

The addictive, gripping and unputdownable Book 2 in the Clifford-Mckenzie Series, although this is book 2 it reads perfectly well as a standalone as throughout the book it briefly keeps you up to date on what happened during book 1. After reading First Game, I will definitely be on the look out for book 1, Crossfire.  Fair Game kept me gripped until the very end and the twists were just incredible I never saw them coming, I actually thought I had worked out the murderer fairly early on but I was so wrong, I just love it when an author has that ability to completely trick you into thinking one thing and then later reveals a huge twist you don't see at all! This was a 5* read for me, very had to review without giving away the whole story, but definitely an author to start reading a d a series to start, I really hope there will be more crime fiction from R.D Nixon. Thank you once again to Anne for organising this blog tour through Random Things Tours and for letting me read and take p

Once Upon A Broken Heart - Stephanie Garber

Oh my goodness, I can't believe that this was the first book by Steohanie Garber I have read, after reading the first few lines I knew instantly I was going to fall in love with this book. I immediately order the Carval series she had already written and pre-ordered the second book in this series! Evangeline Fox has always been  great believer in happily ever after, but when she finds out that the man who she is madly in love with is about to marry someone else all she can think about it trying to stop the wedding...but at what cost?  I read this book in just acouple of sittings, if you're looking for a fantasy fairytale you have come to the right place. Pick this book up and love it just as much as I did!

The Paris Apartment - Lucy Foley

T his book had me hooked from the very first page to the very last, so once you pick up your copy I suggest you cancel all of your plans and get ready to solve a mystery! Benjamin Daniels has gone missing, no one has seen or heard from him, an unexpected visitor is about to have the residents of the apartment block on tenterhooks as his sister Jess arrives. Jess knows that something is wrong the minute she gets to Bens apartment and she is about to stop at nothing to find out exactly what has happened. At the same time she will unveil his neighbours darkest secrets, but by doing this is she putting her own life in danger?... I was completely engrossed from start to finish reading this book, this is definitely my new favourite by Lucy Foley! I suggest you get cosy, get a huge cuppa and be prepared to solve a mystery!

Galatea - Madeline Miller

What an absolutely gorgeous little hardback. This short story is just under 50 pages and it just pulled me in from start to finish, I could have quiet easily read a full length book. Madelines writing is something I will just never tire of reading. Galatea tells the story of pygmalion but from his statue-wife's point of view. Full of obessession and jealousy as his beloved is completely different when she comes back to life. This is the perfect read if you are new to Greek myths and would like something to break you into it.
