Isabelle - Sophia Holloway

Image
So today is the day I get to take part in the blog tour for 'Isabelle' by Sophia Holloway. An utterly charming read that pulled me in from the very start Recently orphaned Isabelle, finds herself now under the watchful eye of Lord  Dunsfold, her immoral brother-in-law who sees Is abelles inheritance as a way to his own fortunes. But Isabelles life is about to change when she meets Julian at the boxing day hunt she organises, a day that her father used to host. With romance in the air between the pair can they overcome all that is about to be thrown their way? I absolutely adored this book, It was romantic and very charming. This is the first book by Sophia Hollway i have read and it certainly won't be the last. Thank you Libby from Allison and Busby for organising a wonderful blog tour and for letting me take part in it. Feel free to check out all of the other reviews that were posted today on Instagram too!

The Christmas Bookshop - Jenny Colgan

Image
There is just something about Jenny Colgan and her books that get me in the festive mood every year, and this year was exactly the same, the second I opened the book all the festive feels just came out!! A heartwarming read that just gets you in the mood for Christmas, with bright lights of the Edinburgh markets to cosy evenings in a bookshop what more could you want?! Carmen has had a tricky relationship with her sister over the years, so when she's out of options, no job and broke she moves in with Sophia. They've set a job up for her to save Mr McCredies bookshop, in Sophias mind this is a task Carmen cannot fulfil....full of the festivities, family relationships and of course romance....this is the book you need to pull you into the Christmas spirit! I read this book as part of a readalong with #dalisbookclub  Check out the other reviews who joined in the readalong.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - C.S Lewis

I forgot just how good this book was, so when it came up as part of  readLong choice with Dalis Book club choice I knew I had to jump at the chance to relive a childhood classic. Peter, Edmund, Susan and Lucy are sent off to live with the professor during the war, and through playing games to occupy themselves they find a whole enchanted world through the back of the wardrobe! What awaits them on the other side is the magical world of Narnia, full of talking beavers, white witches, fauns and of course the king...Aslan! Without a doubt a book I have read many times over during my childhood but never through adulthood. And I can tell you it was just as magical reading it this time round as when i first read it as a child. Thank you #dalisbookclub for hosting another fantastic readlong.
