The Killings At Kingfisher Hill - Sophie Hannah

Image
Another fabulous read by Sophie Hannah, I have previously read the others in this series and they just keep getting better and better. A fesh, gripping and brilliantly plotted read. Poirot has been summoned to Kinggisherhill to help prove a woman innocent for murder, but on his journey it takes a twist when a woman calls for the coach to be stopped as she believes if she stays in the seat she's already seated she will die...as if his day hasn't already been eventful another woman has confessed to a murder! Will poirot ever got to the bottom? I love that Sophie Hannah is still carrying on the legacy of Poirot, Agatha Christie would be so proud that her characters have been left in such great hands. I cannot wait for more from Sophie.

A Man Named Doll - Jonathan Ames

So today is my stop on the 'A Man Named Doll' blog tour and what an absolutely incredible kick off to what I think is going to be a terrific series. For me there is nothing better when reading a crime book to have that piece of humour running through it, especially when it is done as clever as what Jonathan has done throughout this read. The main character is a private detective named Happy, all he wants is a quiet life, that is until he gets into a fight with a customer and ends up killing him!!! I really don't want to say anymore about this book as I don't want to ruin it, but this is definitely one of my favourite reads this year. A clever, humorous, witty and charming yet dark, violent and gritty thrilling read, woth such a likeable character. You really won't want to miss out on this book! I really do hope there will be more from Hap Doll?!!

Worst Idea Ever - Jane Fallon

So today is my stop on the Worst Idea Ever blog tour! I absolutely love Jane Fallons novels and this one has got to be one of my favourites from her. Beautiful, funny, heart warming.....just that book that you need to read now to take your mind off of everything else going on in the world right now! Best friends Georgia and Lydia are more than just friends, they're practically sisters they're that close, but when Lydia's new business isn't going to well Georgia try to help her out, Lydia would never accept help so Georgia creates a twitter account posing as a customer...things slowly start to backfire when Lydia starts confiding in her new customer.....Will Lydia and Georgia be ok? A truly thought provoking read. I read this is an afternoon/evening and didn't want it to end, I cannot wait for the next novel by Jane. If you haven't read any of her books then you must pick one up! You'll not regret it!
